NEW WEB SITE FOR PHIL LIONS: lions-301.org
Soon to be linked with the LCI website, in line with the info tech development, the http://www.lions-301.org is being launched to assist all the districts, lions and leo clubs in the Philippines.
This web site is expected to group together the lions the leos of the Philippines into one central web domain that is completely responsive to the needs as far as public relation and info tech are concerned.
To start with, the multiple district as well as the all the seven sub-districts are alloted free one each basic web page (please click the link bar on the left of this page) plus one each email address under the domain name of lions-301.org (e.g. dist-a2@lions-301.org)
Lions and leo clubs who wish to own a basic web page plus one email box, absolutely FREE, may now fill up the enrollment form then click the submit button.
Regular updates and maintenance are likewise FREE.

MAKATI GOLDEN CAPS DIST HALL OF FAME
|
|
MGLC tops the roll in the newly established District Hall of Fame level. On its 5th consecutive year holding the highest annual award there’s no other way except to occupy the throne in the Hall of Fame. Dist Gov Rodolfo Pua confirmed the award last June 12, 2006 during the Governors’ recognition held at Wonder Island, Calamba City, Laguna. The officers and members present during the affair, led by club President Cherry Bernal, were all called on stage to receive the recognition. It goes without saying that the club president, secretary and treasurer were also recipients of highest excellence awards.
Other awards received by the club members: PP Larena Yee, Intl Certificate of Achievement (Lions Services for Children; PP Larena Yee, DistrictPlaque of Recognition; Associate Mem PDG Del Masigla, GAB Award; Associate Mem PDG Del Masigla, Spl Recognition; PDG Bobby Laurel GAB Award; PP Rho Santillana, Outstanding Zone C/person.

The club likewise topped the most number of New Melvin Jones Fellows in the persons of: Lion Pat Serrano; Lion Reggie Laurel; Lion Jane Langomez; Lion Eve Dasco; Lion Emelita Destura; Lion Emy Enriquez.
The MGLC shall not be included in the future year end evaluation of clubs however must maintain ,if not surpass, its current performance level.
Club President Cherry expressed her utmost thanks to all the past presidents and club members without which these honors should have not been achieved.
The event was attended by over 600 lion members and guest from all the lions clubs of District 301-A2. More than 30 Makati golden members including Leos marched into the island resort to witness the special occasion. “There are wide rooms for improvement in many other areas and we shall continue to lead.” (RL/mglc/pro)

Las Pinas Classic Lions Club - NEW Club in 301-A2
The Las Piñas Classic Lions Club was chartered on June 20, 2006 with
22 members sponsored by Paranaque City Lions Club. The club was
initially organized as a branch of Paranaque City Lions club for the
purpose of providing educational materials to student inmates of New
Bilibid Prisons and school children in the depressed areas of Las Piñas

Participate in Lions World Sight Day 2006
Lions World Sight Day 2006 will be marked in Mali. Lions around the world are
encouraged to plan activities in their communities on October 12, 2006 and
throughout the month of October to coincide with Lions World Sight Day. Possible
activities include collecting eyeglasses, eye health education, conducting screenings
in area schools or sponsoring a cataract surgery. Read further about Lions World
Sight Day and download the Lions World Sight Day Activity Guide (PR-804) for ideas
on how to participate this year.
Have You Seen the Lions News Network?
A new resource has been added to the Lions Web site, Lions News Network (LNN).
From LNN you can view LQ (Lions new quarterly video magazine), video programs
and public service announcements (PSAs). Lions can also order videos to present at
a club meeting or community event and encourage local television stations to
download PSAs for broadcast. A limited number of copies of LQ on DVD are
available by contacting Public Relations. Submit interesting story ideas and photos
(300 dpi) by e-mail for consideration.

Sponsor the Peace Poster Contest
Lions clubs are encouraged to sponsor the Peace Poster program in local schools
and youth groups. Club entries for the 2006-07 Peace Poster Contest, “Celebrate
Peace,” are due to the district governor by November 15, 2006. Read further about
the program and deadlines and view past finalists’ posters. To participate, order a kit
from Club Supplies. A new Peace Poster DVD is available from Public Relations to
promote the program to your club and to the community, view it online now.
Focus Your Camera
Organize a 2006-07 Lions Environmental Photo Contest. Select club-level entries in
November/December to advance to the district level (January 1, 2007 deadline) and
multiple district competitions (March 1, 2007 deadline). Read further for contest
deadlines and rules. Attendees of the 90th Lions International Convention will vote
for photos in the categories of Best Animal, Landscape, Plant, Weather Phenomena,
and Special Theme - Serving Our Environment. Prizes will be awarded and winning
photos are posted online.
Celebrate International Relations Month
Here are a few ideas to celebrate International Relations Month in October:

organize a cultural exchange such as an international art exhibit, concert, dance
festival or food festival
provide humanitarian assistance to another country.
Alleviate Hunger
Hunger is the world’s number one health risk, according to the United Nations World
Food Programme. One in seven people in the world do not have enough food to lead
an active and healthy life. Your Lions club can plan a hunger awareness event on
World Food Day, October 16. Consider organizing a local food collection or
distribution activity, or contribute to a national or international food project. Read
further for tips and ideas on coordinating a community or international project.
